About JMS Online
In 2008, what would become a dedicated supplier to federal marine buyers started as an academic exercise.
While analyzing supply chain inefficiencies for a graduate school project, Dario J. Foti recognized a glaring gap in the maritime industry: the procurement of commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) marine hardware was highly fragmented, making it notoriously difficult for large-scale operations to source reliable equipment efficiently.
The project proposed a streamlined, digital-first distribution model. But rather than leaving the concept in the classroom, Dario built it. JMSOnline.net LLC was launched to modernize marine supply distribution through a robust e-commerce architecture.
The defining pivot occurred when the company aligned its technological capabilities with the stringent, high-volume demands of the American armed forces and federal agencies. Recognizing that government buyers required rapid, reliable access to maintenance equipment and boat hardware, JMSOnline made government buyers its main focus. By securing a long-standing GSA Schedule contract and implementing direct EDI integration, the company cut through traditional procurement red tape to deliver mission-critical COTS products directly to military branches and commercial maritime fleets.
Today, nearly two decades later, that graduate school experiment has grown into an established federal distributor. Backed by an enterprise-grade catalog and deep government sales expertise, JMSOnline serves federal agencies, military units, marinas and boat owners across the country, proof that a highly targeted academic vision can grow into a dependable supplier for America's waterways.
